Specialty Technician (Scrub Tech) or LPN

Shift: 10-hour shifts-4 days/week

POSITION SUMMARY
Scrub Tech: Functions as a member of the surgical team under the direct
supervision of a registered nurse. Assists with the care of patients in
the Operating Room by performing routine and delegated duties
according to established standards of practice and departmental
policies and procedures.
The primary responsibility is to assist with
surgical procedures and function as first or second scrub for a variety
of specialties. The Scrub Tech demonstrates knowledge of surgical
instrumentation, supplies, equipment, aseptic technique and safety
practices.
Other duties include stocking, replenishing, preparing
and/or selecting supplies and equipment for storage or usage during
surgical procedures. Assists with housekeeping functions to maintain
cleanliness in the Operating Room in order to ensure a safe patient
environment.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduate or equivalent
Graduate of a one-year surgical technologist program preferred
Clinical experience of at least one year in an acute care hospital
with Operating Room preferred
CERTIFICATIONS
Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
