Position Summary:

The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic medical radiographic procedures on all patient populations (neonate through geriatric) and exhibits superior levels of customer service.
The technologist effectively operates radiographic equipment to produce quality images in a variety of settings (Radiology Department, Emergency Department, Operating Room, or at the patient’s bedside). The technologist explains procedures to the patient, demonstrates appropriate patient positioning, and obtains optimum views of specified anatomy. The technologist adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors based on knowledge of the procedure and established guidelines. The technologist demonstrates effective radiation safety practices and assists the Radiologist, when necessary. The technologist interacts with numerous computer programs and systems on a daily basis. The technologist may also perform various other duties as assigned by the Radiology Supervisor or Director of Radiology.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
Minimum Experience
Registered or registry eligible Radiologic Technologist
Required Registration/License/Certification
American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT) or graduate student eligible for exam
Kansas License for Radiology Technology
Basic Life Support certification will be accepted from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider), or successfully completes within the first 90 days of employment.
