Parts Counter Sales
Job Description:
Ginder Hydraulic, a local and family-owned business since 1946, is looking for the right person to join our team. The Hydraulic Parts Sales position is responsible for providing the parts needed for both customers and in-house shop services. This counter sales position requires excellent customer service and people skills. It also requires a strong attention to detail and ability to learn on the job.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for servicing retail customers via in-person, phone, email, etc. Ensure excellent customer service and sales skills, including correctly identifying customer needs and making recommendations.
- Ensures shop service technician needs are met timely and accurately. Work with the Service Department to get needed parts ordered for the technicians.
- Maintaining inventory and assisting with handling of incoming and outgoing parts. Ensure retail space and warehouse are clean and organized.
- Take personal initiative to learn and maintain required knowledge of parts and accessories in the hydraulic industry.
- Greet all customers when entering the building and answering phone calls. Ensure customer expectations are met (billing notification, backorder notification, etc.), including extraordinary efforts at meeting commitments. Take effective action to resolve any customer issues that occur.
- Make hydraulic hose assemblies for customers.
Requirements:
- Experience in parts operations and sales, preferred but not required.
- Be able to lift at least 50 lbs and spend most work hours standing.
- Proficient in basic math skills (i.e. accurately using tape measurer, digitial caliper, etc.)
- Excellent retail sales and customer relationship skills.
- Working knowledge of parts storage and warehouse store methods preferred.
- Inventory management and control knowledge and experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Expertise with computer systems, including MS office and internet-based applications
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle status, with current driver’s license, and ability to operate motor vehicle
