Mechanical Assembler II

Job Purpose: Perform a wide variety of mechanical tasks associated with the development and manufacture of equipment and products.
Essential Functions
- Perform technical assembly work on both basic and intermediate sub and final assemblies according to drawings, written procedures, and bills of materials.
- Work with other team members to assemble products.
- Repair and adjust products to match changes to specifications and resolve assembly problems.
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Secure tools, materials, and equipment at end of day.

- One to three years mechanical repair, or equivalent technical training/certification generally required. High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as job orders, procedure manuals, and schematics (blue prints).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain good attendance.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to co-workers, management, vendors, suppliers, and customers.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, management, suppliers, and customers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Skill in the fabrication, joining and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures and structures.
- Ability to use department equipment such as forklift, ladder/scaffold, overhead crane, and power tools.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, bend, kneel, climb stairs and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee must seldom lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. If lifting over 50 pounds employees should utilize a jib, overhead crane, or ask for assistance from other team members. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- The work environment is usually an indoor setting with frequent exposure to outside elements. The noise level in the work environment is frequently high. In addition other elements that an employee could be exposed to occasionally in this work environment are but not limited to; dust, dirt, fumes and odors, mechanical and electrical hazards, fire hazards, and an elevated workplace. This position requires infrequent travel, which may involve exposure to extreme weather elements.
