Job Summary:
Responsible for customer support by traveling to customers site to evaluate, trouble shoot, perform preventative maintenance, repair and/or install a variety of electronic controls for engine monitoring and control systems. This position requires someone who is able to travel for 90-100% of their time, often out of state. While this position does not require a degree or certification, the right candidate would need to have some basic electrical knowledge and be mechanically inclined. Supervisory Responsibility:
No supervisory responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities:
Installation of electronic controls and end devices of large internal combustion engines. Installation of conduit and stainless-steel tubing. Troubleshooting. Stocking Job trailer for future job with materials and consumables. Assemble and test equipment for customer orders and installations. Travel and drive in DOT status with company truck and trailers. Wire end devises and terminate for correct operations for customers control systems. Fabrication will be required. Follow NEC requirements and customer preferences of all electrical practices. Other duties as assigned by manager. Required Skills and Abilities:
Basic Electrical and Mechanical knowledge (willing to train right applicant) Clean driving record within the last 3 years. Willing to work in a team with minimal supervision. Candidate must have good work ethics and take pride in their workmanship. Ability to work in adverse working conditions. Must be able to pass and obtain DOT medical card and insurable. Education and Experience:
Basic electrical knowledge. Mechanically inclined Technical degree or training preferred, but not required. Industrial Electrical/Maintenance preferred. Independent Action:
Ability to work with limited instruction and supervision. Working Conditions:
Ability to travel. This position requires extensive travel. 90-100% Physical Requirements:
Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. |
