Role Description

The Hydraulic Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Salina, KS. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing hydraulic components and systems used on a variety of heavy and mobile equipment. Day-to-day activities include troubleshooting system issues, performing preventive maintenance, rebuilding cylinders, pumps, and valves, and testing equipment to ensure proper operation and safety. The technician will read and interpret technical diagrams, use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment, and document all work performed in service records. Collaboration with team members, adherence to safety protocols, and clear communication with supervisors and customers are integral parts of the role.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose hydraulic and mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Experience servicing hydraulic systems, including cylinders, pumps, valves, hoses, and related components.
  • Knowledge of mobile hydraulic equipment, such as loaders, trucks, agricultural, or construction machinery.
  • Ability to inspect, disassemble, repair, reassemble, and test hydraulic and mechanical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics, technical manuals, and work orders.
  • Commitment to safe work practices, proper tool use, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Prior experience as a hydraulic, mechanical, or equipment technician; vocational or technical training is preferred.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy components, stand for extended periods, and perform hands-on work in a shop environment.
