Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Operations/Project Mgr. Incumbent provides skilled mechanical, maintenance and repair services to rebuild large engines and industrial equipment.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accepts responsibility for safety of self and others on team.
- Uses and reads micrometers, dial indicators, depth gauges, standard mechanical knowledge, etc. Properly uses & maintains hand tools, and the company-provided technical equipment.
- Have opportunities to work on a variety of heavy-duty equipment
- Ongoing technical training to keep up with changes and improvements
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with customers & co-workers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to comprehend & pass various safety training modules.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mathematical Skills-Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Prior experience in an industrial setting or use of production equipment is beneficial.
- Prior knowledge of material handling using pallet jacks, forklifts, hoists, or overhead cranes is beneficial.
